4X - Five lighthouse operations are expected to take place from Israel
on 19-21 August: 4X01LH (Jaffa), 4X02LH (Stela Maris), 4X03LH

CE - Members of Radio Club Eternautas will be active as CB100R on 14
August in celebration of the 100th anniversary since the first
official radio broadcast in Chile (19 August 1922). QSL via email

CE0Y - Roberto, CE3CT will be active holiday style as CE0Y/CE3CT from
Easter Island (SA-001) on 11-18 August. He will operate mainly CW
with a focus on 30, 17 and 12 metres. He will upload his log to
Club Log and LoTW.
EA8 - EG8HKT is the special callsign that members of Radio Club Islas
Canarias (EA8RCK) will be using on 8-15 August in remembrance of
St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe. QSL via eQSL only; a certificate will
be available, see qrz.com for information. Born in 1894, Father
Kolbe (SP3RN) was killed on 14 August 1941 at Auschwitz.
ES - Ed, ES2TT will be active as ES2TT/1 from Aegna Island (EU-149) on
27 August, and as ES2TT/0 from Hiiumaa Island (EU-034) on 3-4 Sep-
tember. He will operate CW and SSB on 40, 30 and 20 metres. QSL via

F - The Radio Club Vendeen (F6KUF) will be active as TM3GGR from 20
August to 4 September. The suffix stands for Golden Globe Race,
(https://goldengloberace.com/), the single-handed, round-the-world
sailing race that will start from Les Sables-d'Olonne, France on 4

FH - Marek Lamachou (ex SQ6WR, J28WR and F4VVJ) will be active as FH4VVK
in his spare time while stationed on Petite-Terre, Mayotte (AF-027)

GM - Members of the Zetland Amateur Radio Club will be active as GB2ELH
from Eshaness Lighthouse on mainland Shetland (EU-012) during the
International Lighthouse & Lightship Weekend on 20-21 August. QSL

J2 - J28RC is the callsign allocated to the Riverine Amateur Radio Club
at Camp Lemmonnier, Djibouti (a chapter of the US based Riverine
ARC, KO4OXN). It is operated by military service members and US
contractors serving with US forces. They can operate SSB, CW and
digital modes on 80-10 metres. QSL via EA5GL and LoTW.
J3 - J38GB is the callsign issued to Greg, N9GB for his 12-19 August
holiday style activity from Grenada [425DXN 1631]. He will operate
mainly CW and SSB on 40-6 metres. QSL via EB7DX and LoTW.
LY - Special callsign LY770CT will be used on all bands and modes from
15 August to 14 October to commemorate the 770th anniversary since
the founding of the Lithuanian city of Klaipeda. QSL via LY1CT and

ON - Members of Radio Amateurclub Diest (ON4DST) will operate special
event station ON37IOF on 13-14 August from the premises of the 37th
International Oldtimer Fly & Drive In organized by Diest Aero Club.

OY - Henning, OZ2I will be active as OY7EE from Streymoy, Faroe Islands
(EU-018) on 11-15 August, with main activity during the CW leg of
the Worked All Europe DX Contest (13-14 August). QSLs via LoTW,

PY - Team ZV8C (Ronaldo PS8RV, Jean PY7BR and Sandro PY8SL) will be
active from the Cuinarana Marine Extractive Reserve, in the Brazil-
ian state of Para, on 19-21 August. They will operate SSB, CW and
FT8 on 80-10 metres. QSL via operators' instructions.
PY - Team ZX8F (Ronaldo PS8RV and Jean PY7BR) will be active from the
Brazilian state of Amapa between 22 and 27 August. They will oper-
ate SSB, CW and FT8 on 80-10 metres from the National Park of Cabo
Orange (22-24 August) and the Environmental Protection Area of
Fazendinha (25-27 August). QSL via operators' instructions.
SP - Members of the Dobrzycki Amateur Radio Club (SP3PDO) will activate
special callsigns SO550MK, SP550MK and SQ550MK to celebrate the
550th anniversary of the birth of Mikolaj Kopernik (Nicolaus Coper-
nicus, 19 February 1473), the Polish astronomer who formulated a
model of the solar system centred on the Sun rather than Earth. QSL
all callsigns via SP3PDO, bureau or direct.
VE - VY2/WT4BT, VY2/W6ABM, VY2/N7BF and VY2/ZL2HM will be active from
Prince Edward Island (NA-029) on 17-29 August. "They plan park and

VU - Further special callsigns expected to be QRV in celebration of the
75th anniversary since India achieved independence include AT75CW
(operated by VU2CW on 1 September-2 October), AT75FLAG (operated by
VU2UUU and VU2VUV on 6-15 August), AT75HGT (operated by VU2YYE on
13-15 August), AT75RADIO (operated by VU2CW on 10-21 August) and
AT75RS (operated by VU2RS).
XZ - "I am happy to announce that I will shortly be returning to Myanmar
to take up full-time teaching employment again, and to engage in
the educational charity work for orphanages that I did previous-
ly", Simon Luttrell (XW0LP, HS0ZIB, G6JFY) announced on 11 August.
"I have already been in touch with the relevant authorities, who
have confirmed that I will be able to reapply for my XZ2A call-
sign", and to import his new transceiver. "I will only be allowed
to operate from 20 MHz and up", he says, and adds: "because of the
operating permit restrictions, I plan to activate only one band for
300 days (the maximum length of time that the permit is issued
for). So 15m, 12m, 10m and then 6m over a total period of 4 x 300
days. So I can plan the 6m permit for the best time of the year for
propagation". |
